Summary

Writing has always been my passion, and I am lucky enough to have built a career around it.

I love the idea of creating copy to persuade consumers to act on something. I'm always thinking, "what does the consumer want and how can I get them to engage," whether it's a recipe card series or identity theft protection. I've worked on both printed and online media – from solicitation and fulfillment through upselling and cross selling. I am dedicated and passionate about every project, big or small.

  • Roadside Assistance Program Kit: We got our roadside assistance program in Walmart. I wrote the entire kit and the supporting materials. One of the biggest challenges was that copy  and design had to be approved by internal and client legal departments.

  • Monthly member communications: Working with the strategy team, we identified 4 different demographic groups and I wrote copy and chose images to speak to each group. Retention results are still pending, however the open rate increased by 33%.

  • Point of Sale kit example: While at Affinion, I was the writer for many of our point of sale clients, including f.y.e., Hancock Fabrics, Staples, and Walmart. I also worked with designers on supporting materials, including posters, handouts, and inserts.

  • Top DM creative: Compliance issues pushed me and my design partner to create a new solicitation that met all requirements without sacrificing our marketing message. Not only did we beat control, but increased response by 130%!

  • Winning Product at IMP: This was a labor of love! I collaborated with the art director and recipe developers to create this amazing card series. We even had a hand at designing custom cookie cutters for the series that were not available in stores!

  • Responsive FYE Monthly Email:                       We brainstormed new templates for monthly emails to members. Being proficient in Dreamweaver, I was able to write/edit copy directly within the HTML files, saving critical time in meeting tight deadline
